Vehicles Tier List

Vehicle power defines map control

Infantry wins rooms; vehicles win rotations. A coordinated Vortex sweep can delete jeep convoys before they reach mid, while a parked Battle Tank anchors a facility better than five disconnected riflemen. This tier list ranks common air and ground options for public Base Wars matches and points you to spawn logic on the maps guide.

Watch the embedded vehicle tier breakdown for visual loadout ideas, then practice in empty moments between CTF pushes. Pair with the loadout planner when you jump out to finish kills on foot. For plate facing, weak arcs, and module math after the directional armor overhaul, open the deep page Vehicle armor instead of memorizing rumors.

Tier key

  • S — Spawn whenever your team needs map pressure
  • A — Excellent in the right hands or map
  • B — Situational or support-oriented
  • C — Niche, team-tax, or easily punished

Costs, resistances, and weapon modules change with patches—confirm in the vehicle loadout UI after reading Updates and Recent patches.

S tier — Vortex and premier threats

Vortex remains the iconic Base Wars fighter. High agility, hover behavior, machine gun plus missile packages, and bombs let skilled pilots contest every lane. It teaches energy management, flare timing, and dive angles that transfer to every other aircraft. Respect flight ceilings—climbing forever is not a strategy if the map soft-caps altitude or dumps you into predictable AA cones. If you only master one vehicle, master Vortex.

Battle Tank sits beside top air power for different reasons: enormous health, strong frontal resistances after directional plate rules, HEAT-style cannons, optional gunner seats, and rumble seats that let teammates ride and shoot. Point the front armor at threats, hide the weak rear, and let infantry screen your flanks. On open The Land approaches, a living Battle Tank often decides whether a flag run survives the last hundred meters.

Attack helicopters with modern strike missiles also brush S/A depending on patch—less pure dogfight mobility than Vortex, more hovering punishment on armor columns.

A tier — Shadow, MAC Tank, flexible killers

Shadow fighters trade some Vortex twitchiness for strong forward speed and distinctive laser-guided rocket kits. Reworks that shifted heat-seeking tools into laser-guided rockets reward pilots who lead targets and manage energy. Shadow is the “I already understand air” upgrade path—not a worse Vortex, a different skill expression. Practice holding the laser on a strafing tank instead of firing blind volleys.

MAC Tank is the medium tank answer: lower bulk than Battle Tank, higher speed, underground or mountain facility spawn rules on many maps, and weapon menus that include 85mm cannons, dual HE options, and serious anti-air gatlings. Bring MAC when you need hybrid AA / anti-armor without committing a full Battle Tank budget. It is unavailable on some classic layouts—check spawn boards. Directional plates still matter—see Vehicle armor.

Artillery pieces and well-played bombers can share A-tier space when terrain gives them cover or altitude. They punish static campers but die to focused Vortex dives if unsupported.

B tier — jeeps, ATVs, support craft, Sub VLS

Jeeps and ATVs are logistics and harassment tools. They ferry squads, contest distant pads, and occasionally delete distracted infantry with mounted guns. They are not fair 1v1 answers to tanks—use them to create tempo, not to ego-challenge frontal armor. Rumble-seat style passenger slots turn a jeep into a mobile fireteam when your squad actually shoots.

Trackers and lighter airframes teach movement tech but lack the punch of Vortex / Shadow loadouts. Spawn trucks enable creative pushes yet paint a huge target for lock-on rockets and Epic Striker users from the weapons list.

Navy options (destroyers, Sub VLS, carriers on water-capable layouts) swing wildly with map choice. Treat Sub VLS and surface ships as B unless your lobby actually contests the sea lanes—then they jump in value fast.

C tier — misplayed heavies and team taxes

Helicopter carriers and mega gunships can look intimidating with huge health pools, but they demand gunners and clear airspace. Solo queuing into one without teammates often feeds Battle Score to the enemy. Likewise, any vehicle flown into overlapping AA turrets without flares—or parked showing its weak directional arc—earns a C-tier performance regardless of spreadsheet stats.

Map-based vehicle picks

  • The Land (2 team): Vortex / Shadow for rotations; Battle Tank for mid holds; MAC from underground storage when available; mind flight ceilings over open mid
  • Peak (3 team): Expect chaotic air; prioritize flares and team AA. MAC mountain facility spawns matter. Avoid overcommitting tanks into three-way crossfire
  • Classic Battlefield: Tighter lanes favor infantry more often; jeeps, rumble seats, and situational armor still help, but pure air may be less dominant than on The Land
  • Water layouts: Sub VLS and navy pieces only when sea control is real

Modules, directional armor, flares, and counters

Vehicle loadout menus unlock alternate cannons, AA guns, and armor plates with Battle Score. The directional armor overhaul means front / side / rear (and sometimes top) take different punishment—detail and facing drills live on Vehicle armor. Spend early unlocks on:

  1. A reliable primary cannon or gun you can aim under stress
  2. Flares / smoke / IR tools that break lock-ons
  3. Situational AA if enemy air is stomping your lobby
  4. Reinforced plates only after you survive long enough to use them—and after you understand which face you are showing

Infantry counters include Uber Rocket, Epic Striker, planted mines, and coordinated focus fire on rear armor. If you die repeatedly to the same lock-on user, change altitude (within the flight ceiling), pop utility earlier, or abandon the vehicle and fight on foot with armor that matches the threat.

Practice routine

  1. Warm up Vortex in a quiet match—figure-eights over friendly territory without slamming the ceiling
  2. Spend one life learning Battle Tank gun depression, rumble-seat gunners, and rear vulnerability
  3. Try Shadow laser-guided rocket leads against bots or distracted enemies
  4. Review deaths: locked without flares? rear-shot by MAC? ignored directional plates? crashed into terrain?
  5. Requeue with a friend as dedicated gunner when using multi-crew armor
  6. Skim Vehicle armor after any plate or module patch

Vehicle mastery raises your Battle Score income dramatically because air kills and tank bounties pay well. That snowball unlocks better infantry guns too—progression is linked.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Base Wars codes, VIP, loadouts, and combat.

What is the best vehicle for beginners?

Vortex for air fundamentals, or a jeep for low-pressure mobility. Battle Tank is strong but punishes players who expose the rear early under directional armor rules.

Vortex or Shadow—which should I main?

Vortex if you want maximum agility and classic dogfighting. Shadow if you prefer speed and laser-guided rocket styles after you already understand air fights.

Where do I learn directional armor and plates?

Open the Vehicle armor tool page for facing diagrams and module advice. This tier list ranks spawns; that page explains why rear shots delete you.

When should I spawn a MAC Tank instead of a Battle Tank?

When you need speed, AA options, or the map only offers MAC facility spawns. Battle Tank still wins pure front-line brawls when the front plate faces the threat.

How do I survive lock-on rockets?

Save flares or smoke, break line of sight, respect flight ceilings, and avoid flying predictable straight lines over open mid. Sometimes exiting the vehicle is correct.

Are Sub VLS and navy vehicles worth learning?

Only on maps and modes where water control matters. Otherwise invest practice time in Vortex, Shadow, Battle Tank, and MAC Tank first.
